Successful Grant Writing Techniques Basic steps: 1. Prove you have a significant need or problem in your proposal 2. Show an answer to the need, problem, etc., based on experience, ability, and logic 3. Show you have done the research, well designed plan, and a vision 4. Know the grant makers goals and objectives and match to your need…problem… 5. Contact grant maker directly if you need clarification before you submit 6. Make sure you have submitted in the proper format and used forms correctly 7. State clearly and concisely your needs and objectives using proper grammar and correct spelling 8. Answer the who, what when and how questions 9. Logically demonstrate outcomes or impact 10. Who supports your project (stakeholders and other supporters) 11. Eligibility • All NCTA Members in good standing • Other groups and organizations supporting NCTA’s Mission • Recipients may not apply for 2 years following a grant award • The NCTA Board reserves the right to modify eligibility requirements NCTA Grants grants@ncta-testing.org
Allocated Resources • Grant amounts: • Ranging from $500 to $3,000 per recipient • Funds pool: • 5-10% of NCTA’s organizational reserve funds • May vary from year-to-year NCTA Grants grants@ncta-testing.org
