Student Teaching Site Selection: • Joint selection between Hendrix College and the Cooperating School District • Must be within a 50-mile radius of Conway • Student teacher candidates should make Education faculty aware of special considerations during the student teaching placement process
Student Teaching Blocks August Observation: • 2nd or 3rd week of August • First three days of school (for public schools) • 7:45am – 4:00pm • Observe how teachers set up rules and routines • Keep a journal of observations
Student Teaching Blocks • Intro to Student Teaching (2 week seminar) • Four Week Block Journals/lesson plans • Eight Week Block Journals/lessons/2 week unit • Six Week Blocks Journals/lessons/1 week unit at each site (NOTE: During student teaching, you will follow the spring break schedule of your cooperating school NOT the Hendrix spring break schedule)
