  1. How does argumentative writing apply to me?

  2. Prewrite ON FRONT OF THE NOTECARD: • Using the notecards, write three of your core beliefs. • Then, choose 1 core belief and give two reasons why you believe in this. • Support with evidence.

  3. Truman’s speech • Listen to teacher read the speech. • Next, in your groups, mark words that need to be changed for better understanding. We will talk about these words together. • Then, in your groups, Partner A will read paragraph 1 and Partner B will summarize the paragraph to Partner A. • Write a one sentence summary • Repeat process with Partner A and B rotating positions for each paragraph.
