  2. What to consider when deciding what to take in Grade 10 • Consider future goals when making choices for Gr. 10 • Some Gr. 10 courses will be pre-requisites for Grade 11 and 12 courses. Ex. You can’t take ASM3M1 in grade 11 if you don’t have the grade 10 ASM201. The gr. 10 ASM20 is the pre-requisite for ASM3M1. • Go onto your myblueprint account to check for pre-requisites and for course descriptions • You can also check out all the courses on your myBlueprint account, under High School

Making Your Choices – Compulsory Classes You will need to choose the following 6 Compulsory Courses for Gr. 10: English – ENG2P (applied), ENG2D (academic), ENG2L (Locally Developed) Math – MFM2P (applied), MPM2D (academic), MAT2L (Locally Developed) Science – SNC2P (applied), SNC2D (academic), SNC2L (Locally Developed) Religion – HRE201 Civics and Careers – civcar (CHV201/glc2o1) History– CHC2D (academic), CHC2P (applied), CHC2L (Locally Developed)

  4. How do I do this? • Log into yourmyBlueprintaccount • Go to High School • Click on the course – the compulsory courses are shaded in • Select the level • Add to plan • Submit and print plan (you will need this to complete your registration)

  5. Gr. 10 Elective Courses • You can choose 2 Elective Courses • However if you go to summer school this summer and take 1 compulsory course, ex. History, Civics and Careers, then you can choose 3 elective courses in your myBlueprint BUT HOW DO I DO THIS? • If you plan on taking summer school this summer, do NOT select the compulsory course you intend on taking. in its place put your third elective. Ex. Don’t pick CIVCAR and put in your 3rd elective choice. • Put your Compulsory course down in the Alternates box under your Gr. 10 column when choosing your courses

  6. When do I pick up a summer school form? Summer School forms are usually in GUIDANCE by May 2017! If they are in earlier, we will make an announcement and send out a tweet! Stay tuned!

  7. What are the Gr. 10 Elective Courses? ARTS DEPARTMENT Drama – ADA201 (if you took ADA101 this year SO ADA101 is a pre-req) - ADA20B – beginner Guitar – AMG201 Music (instrumental) – AMU201 (if you took AMU101 this year) - AMU20B – beginner Media Arts – ASM201 Visual Arts – AVI201 (pre-req AVI101) - AVI20B – Beginner Percussion – AMP201 – THIS IS A NEW COURSE WE ARE OFFERING NEXT YEAR. YOU WILL BE IN THE DRUMLINE IF YOU TAKE THIS COURSE!

  10. Remember… • You must have completed an ART credit by the end of Grade 10. • If you do NOT have an Art credit on your timetable this year, BE SURE TO PICK ONE OF OUR ART ELECTIVES FOR NEXT YEAR! • This is a GRADUATION REQUIREMENT!

SUBMISSION PROCEDURES • Log into your myBlueprint account and choose your courses • We will open the portal so you can SUBMIT AND PRINT your course selections on Thursday, February 9 after school • Registration collection begins: Monday February 13 p1 and runs until Thursday, February 16. PORTAL CLOSES ON FEBRUARY 16! • Where – in the cafeteria or atrium. WE WILL CALL YOU DOWN. • You must have BOTH OF THE FOLLOWING as we will NOT accept one without the other: • 1. Course Selection Sheet – signed by your parent (print off from Myblueprint) • 2. Payment form (from your homeroom teacher) with money – cash, credit or debit $65 NO CHEQUES!

  12. Make sure you get your form and money in early to give you a better chance of getting your electives! DEADLINE – February 16, 2017
