  6. Stereotype Threat – important points • Individuals show higher degrees of stereotype threat. These effects are also increased when THEY EXPECT DISCRIMINATION due to their identification with negatively stereotyped group. • On tasks they wish to perform well on • When they identify strongly with the stereotype group • MOST PEOPLE ARE VULNERABLE TO STEREOTYPE THREAT • Since most people have at least one SOCIAL IDENTITY which is negatively stereotyped • If they encounter a situation in which the stereotype is relevant. • Situational factors • Difficulty of the task • Belief that they will be judged unfairly on abilities • Relevance of stereotype to task https://www.pinterest.cl/pin/97460779412566891/
