  6. Discussion What has prompted the need for Social and Emotional Learning in our schools?

K-12 Environmental Scan “Pockets of Excellence.” Common Foundational Structure: • Strong district-level leadership and staff buy-in from the top down Prioritized social, emotional learning (SEL) • Included SEL accountability measures in their school improvement planning processes • Routinely utilized data to inform practices, including progress monitoring • Ensured resources (i.e., programs, services and supports) were available across tiered levels of support • An established system for identification and referral of students; and Strong school-community provider partnerships.
