He who OVERCOMES inherits these things In stark contrast, the wicked have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone. Revelation
The Perfect City for the Saints (21:9-27) John is shown the city by an angel… The city is illuminated with light like a jasper stone, clear as crystal (cf. 4:3). It has a great high wall. The number 12 figures prominently in the design of the heavenly city: There are 12 gates, 12 angels, names of 12 tribes written on gates, each gate is a pearl. The 12 foundations have on them the names of 12 apostles and are adorned with 12 precious stones (Eph. 2:19-20; Mt. 16:19) The dimensions are 12,000 furlongs square (1,500 miles), and the width of the wall is 144 cubits (216 feet). The gates are never closed– suggesting both easy access AND safety. Nothing can enter that doesn’t belong, only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of Life. Revelation

Revelation 22:6-21Final Assurance & Warnings The message is from God, who alone is worthy of worship (22:6-9,16; 5:13f.) “Behold I come quickly” (22:7, 12, 20) These statements appear to refer to the speed & surety of the Lord’s coming; they may not have the same import as “shortly come to pass” and “the time is at hand” which refer to nearness in time (1:1; 22:6; 1:3; 22:10) Fulfillment will begin so soon and is so certain that there will be little opportunity for men to alter their spiritual condition -- the dye is cast (22:11) Revelation
