Adjectives • An Adjective is a word that describes a noun or pronoun. • Adjectives answer these 3 questions: • What kind? • How many? • Which one? They can describe color, shape, size, sound, taste, touch, smell, or can be a number.
Article Adjectives • Another kind of adjective is call an Article Adjective. • A, An, The are called articles. • A is used when a word begins with a consonant. • Akangaroo hopped quickly around the zoo. • An is used then the word begins with a vowel. • Ananimal that hops is a kangaroo.
Proper Adjectives • Proper adjectives are formed from proper nouns. • Japan, Mexico, and India are proper nouns. • Japanese, Mexican, and Indian are proper adjectives because they describe a person and are a name.
