  1. WIND ENERGY BY: Isabel ma. Pozo, Alejandra Dueñas; Marina Dousdebes.

  2. description of the energy source, including whether it is renewable or non-renewable, the form of energy in which it is found (eg. thermal, chemical, etc.), • Windenergyismotion energy due to the movement of air molecules. we can also say that wind is a renewable source because it comes from the air which never ends. if there would be windmills in Ecuador they should be located in the mountains and forests where there is a lot of wind.

  3. A brief history of the energy source; • Wind energy has been used since the human was born. Wind power machines have been working since always, but with the time it had evolved in different ways. wind started being used and transformed with wind mills but now days, we use wind turbines to create electricity.

  4. Where and how the energy source is used today; • Now days, wind energy is very useful and is used all over the world because it’s a way of getting energy without need of pollution. Now days, factories, houses use fossil fuels, which contaminate too much, so fossil fuels may be replaced with wind energy, that doesn’t contaminate.

  5. Where the energy source is found and how it is recovered/harnessed; • Wind energy is created by air that flows from areas of high pressure to areas of low pressure. What causes pressure is the movement of the earth and the heat from the sun. Hot air weights less so it goes higher in the atmosphere. Wind is harnessed with turbines. Wind turns the blades of the windmill which creates electricity. The larger the windmill the more energy produced.

  6. How energy is stored in the source and how the energy is released • A form to store wind energy can be by batteries because they charge with the wind and when they humans need them they are already charged. • Wind energy is released when the molecules are moving to give wind that creates energy, being processed by the wind turbines.

  7. Advantages and disadvantages of the energy source • wind energy may have it cons, and pros. A great benefit of wind energy, is that it uses a natural resource to create energy and it doesn't contaminate. Wind energy is the least expensive of all renewable energy sources compared to the other renewable sources (like natural gas). The last and greatest benefits of all, is that wind energy is renewable. wind is plentiful and it wont finish. • as wind energy has it pros, it also has it cons. wind is unpredictable. if there is no wind, houses may not have energy.also wind turbines are very noisy if you live near them and that can bother you. finally, wind turbines are also very dangerous for flying creatures because if they touch the turbine, it kills them.

  8. Economic impacts of the energy source (to the consumer and to the Government • Wind energy, as a comparison to other sources may be a cheap or expensive, depending on the size. The cost of a big wind mill can go from 2 to 3 million dollars. But the cost of a small or farm wind mill can go from 3,000 to 8,000, depending on the kilowatt of capacity.

  9. Environmental impacts of the energy source • Wind energy is one of the most eco friendly energy source. The main point its because it doesn’t contaminate. Wind energy uses energy and natural sources to create more energy, instead of destroying resources to make energy. a wind turbine works as opposite as a fan. it uses wind to create electricity, instead of electricity to create wind as the fan does. when the wind incomes, it turns the blade and that causes the shaft to spin. then, the turbine connects to a generator to finally create electricity.

  10. Future of the energy source • In the near future, first of all wind energy will be one of the most cost effective source of electrical power. There will, also be infinite refinements and improvements for the wind turbines or wind converters.

  11. Other interesting facts about the energy source • Is a renewable source • One of the lowest priced renewable energy • Its mostly exploded in Europe than in USA • Can be used to replace fossil fuels • It can be considered as a long term energy

  12. Why is it even necessary for a business to be offering your energy resource at this time? • Its necessary for a business to offer our energy source because now days, the whole world is so contaminated, and it will be incredible if we could have an energy source which gives the same amount of energy without the need of contaminating, because renewable sources like wind energy don’t contaminate and are very useful.

  13. How will your energy source fulfill Ecuador’s future energy needs? • With wind energy, Ecuador's future can have an amazing change and a amazing impact on the future lives of people because, as an eco friendly source, people can get energy without contamination, and that can cure all the damages we have done to our environment.

  14. Why should your company be chosen over other businesses that utilize different energy sources? • My energy source should be chosen over other energy sources due to the simple reasons that this energy is ecofriendly, it’s a clean and safe way to gain energy, it uses natural resources to create energy and it can replace fossil fuels, which will be great because there will be the same amount of energy and less amount of pollution.
