What is Grants.gov? Grants.gov allows organizations to electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from Federal grant-making agencies.
Getting Started • UD is the registered applicant for Grants.gov • Grant researchers are not required to register or login to Grants.gov • Do not register as an individual investigator
Getting Started http://www.Grants.gov • Download PureEdge Viewer • Obtain CFDA number or Funding Opportunity Number • Download your application package
Application Package • Download package • Save the package to your computer • Complete the package – Save as per RFP • Attach package to UD Grants Proposal with the appropriate naming convention, i.e., proposal number_other (document type extension which will be added by system)
Providing the package to OVPR • Attach to the PeopleSoft record • Attach to an e-mail • UD Drop Box http://www.udel.edu/topics/dropbox/
Submitting Proposal • Notifying OVPR? • At the start of preparation • On the Proposal Approval Summary form • Whenever you need assistance in the process
Remember the 72-hour Policy • The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) has announced a new 72-hour policy for processing research proposals to funding agencies. Beginning January 3, 2007 UD researchers will need to allow their institutional representative at OVPR a minimum of 72 hours (three business days) to review and approve funding proposals in advance of agency deadlines.
Can I Make Changes to My Application? • Requires complete new submission • Prior to submission deadline • Update UD Grants Proposal System • Agency specific – contact Grantor Agency to determine how resubmission should be indicated on the cover page
Tracking the Proposal • OVPR notified of successful submission • Tracking restricted by Grants.gov to OVPR
