Lineage A first generation Korean MMORPG launched in 1998 Developed by NCSoft Mobile version launched in 2017 has 7 million users
Barts was the largest server in Lineage II • Most of the castles / hunting grounds in Barts was under the control of a guild called “Dragon Knights” (DK) • DK imposed high taxes on transactions and monopolized hunting grounds that had high-level monsters Barts War (2004 - 2008)
2 incidents: • Tax increase from 10% to 15% • An altercation that led to the killing of four non-DK players • Castle of Ghiran attacked and captured by Red Revolution (May 09, 2004) but lost to DK after two weeks • Led to the formation of a large-scale armed rebellion Barts War Outbreak
Battles ensued • The Rebels greatly overwhelmed the DK in number but could not quite defeat it Barts War May - July 2004
The largest castle in Barts • Most amount of taxes from transactions • Important strategic point but difficult to capture due to the geographic location and the strength of its defense mechanism (e.g. 30% more durable than other castles) Barts War Battle of Aden
In order to capture a castle, each side must register for the battle in advance • Once the battle starts, the attacking forces must capture the castle (e.g. enter the castle and complete a quest) within a specified time limit • If not, the attacking forces lose regardless of which side retained more casualties Barts War Battle of Aden

You were in the middle of completing a quest in a new hunting ground when you bumped into another player who told you that this area belongs to her guild and that you need to leave immediately. When you failed to comply, she killed your character. Although you shortly got resurrected in a nearby village, because your character died without completing the quest, you lost all your items and level boost you acquired for the last few days. Also, you feel extremely hurt that she did this to you. Scenario #1
Peter created a fake website on which other players of a game he plays were lured into entering their ID/passwords. He logged onto the game using their credentials and transferred items they owned to himself and his friends. These items had been bought at the in-game shop using real money. Scenario #2
Leslie was hunting monsters when another player named “BigBro442” came up to her and started “virtually rubbing her chest”. When she fled, he chased her around, making grabbing/rubbing motions near the chest and the crotch of her character. Scenario #3
