  17. Frequently Asked Questions Q: Can my child take Driver’s Education as a 9th grader if they are 15 and have their driver’s permit? A: Because of class sizes at HHS, NO 9th grader can take Driver’s Ed—regardless of age; Might be allowed at GHS

  18. Frequently Asked Questions Q: Can my child register for a sport on his/her registration form? A: No. Your child should choose Life/PE as an elective, then write the sport next to it. When the counselor gets the official list from the coach, he/she will be placed in the appropriate class.

  19. Frequently Asked Questions Q: If my child has an IEP (Individualized Education Plan), will this affect his registration process? A: Your child should go through the registration process like other students. Atransition IEP meeting will be held at the end of this year In addition, the special education teacher assigned to this class will have a meeting with all incoming Special Education parents. Sp ed. Teachers will let you know when it is time for this meeting.

  20. Filling out the Registration Form • Register for classes totaling 7 CREDITS by circling the classes of your choice. • If you would like to take a higher level course than recommended, your parent must fill out the course variance section on the registration form. • Circle 2 classes and write ALT (alternate) next to them. This will be your next selection in case something you register for is full. I recommend A1, then A2, etc. • Make a copy of your registration form (for you) before you turn it in to me. • Fill out the FRONT of the registration form.

  21. HCS 4-year plan 9th grade column must be decided now. Others are plans. 4-years plans are not “set in stone” and are only plans.
