  1. "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud"   I wandered lonely as a cloudThat floats on high o'er vales and hills,When all at once I saw a crowd,A host, of golden daffodils;Beside the lake, beneath the trees,Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

  2. Continuous as the stars that shineAnd twinkle on the milky way,They stretched in never-ending lineAlong the margin of a bay:Ten thousand saw I at a glance,Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

  3. The waves beside them danced; but theyOut-did the sparkling waves in glee:A poet could not but be gay,In such a jocund company:I gazed---and gazed---but little thoughtWhat wealth the show to me had brought:

  4. For often, when on my couch I lieIn vacant or in pensive mood,They flash upon that inward eyeWhich is the bliss of solitude;And then my heart with pleasure fills,And dances with the daffodils.

  6. The poet describes the great beauty of daffodils , shows how he is moved by the beautiful scene, then describes how, later on, he recollects the emotions evoked ( reminded) in him by that scene.

  7. Commentary

  8. -The poem is composed of four stanzas. The rhyme scheme is {ab ab cc}. - Besides the description of the beautiful daffodils, the poet is writing about himself. He is writing about nature and, at the same time, is writing about himself in relation to nature.

  14. 1- what is the poet describing in the 1st and 2nd stanzas? • The poet describes the daffodils in the 1st and the 2nd stanzas and how they moves gently upwards and backwards beside the lake and dances in the light gentle wind. He then compares them to the stars that shine in the sky. And that their number was so great and they were raising and throwing their heads in a lively way.
