  1. Be Prepared… • Grab a paper from the side table • Take out yesterday’s work • Sit in your puppet play groups

  2. Chapter 13.1 - Oregon Country Today in your groups you will journey into the OregonCountry by wagon trains…

  3. But to do this you will need to work as a team to accomplish this goal as you experience the hardships of the Oregon Trail

  4. In order to complete your journey safely you must complete the challenges you will face. Lose the challenge and lose a member of your wagon.

  5. Not everyone will make it!Your goal is for your entire wagon to last the entire trail!!!

  6. The Physical Challenges are limited to one per group. So be strategic in your choosing.

  7. Oregon Trail Native Americans 2000

  8. Wagons Farm Horses Grasses Oxen

  9. Everyone is starting in Independence, Mo.

  10. Round 1 Your group has begun their journey. But your covered wagon has a wheel broken!! To fix it you must complete the challenge.

  11. Physical Challenge One member from each groupmust juggle the soccer ball 3 times to complete this challenge.

  12. Weather Lightning Apple Shelter Leaked

  13. Congratulations…you have made it to Ft. Kearny (current day Nebraska)

  14. Round 2 Your group has run into some bad weather!!! To find shelter you must complete this challenge…

  15. Physical Challenge One member from each group will be given a chance to make a paperbasketballshot. If your shot is successful your entire wagon survives this round.

  16. Infection Killed 2/3rd Water and Food Untreatable

  17. Congratulations…you have made it to Ft. Laramie (current day Wyoming)

  18. Round 3

  19. Physical Challenge One member from each group will begin balancing a white board on their head. The last one standing will be only group to survive the outbreak entirely.

  20. Congratulations…you have made it to the Rocky Mts. You will need a man to show you the way over the mountains. Be quiet.. there are hostile natives!

  21. Congratulations…you have made it over the mountains with the help of the knowledgeable Mountain Man known as G.R.

  23. Round 4 On your travels you come across a number of different species of animals. A bear has made its way to your camp site. You must escape before it attacks!

  24. Physical Challenge Each group will select one person for this challenge. Each person will have two chances to spin a coin and stop it with their finger.

  25. Congratulations…you have made it to Ft. Boise (present day Idaho). You are almost to your destination!

  26. Cheyenne Pawnee Trades Attacks

  27. Round 5

  28. Challenge Call it: Heads or Tails Make the correct choice and everyone in your wagon survives!!!

  29. Congratulations…some of you made it to Oregon!
