Our friend Toby wants to go green! Use stairs instead of elevators, to save energy. Recycle! Driving smaller vehicles causes less pollution & uses less gas
How RH could improve efforts Turn off unused appliances, to save energy Turn off water when not being used to save water. Wasting energy by leaving it on all day. Big Trucks provide bad emissions in the air.
Supporting the Go Green Effort! Riding horse instead of car Using a mug that can be washed and reused Riding the school bus to save energy. Hanging up wet clothes Cutting off the TV when leaving the room Throwing away ONLY trash, having a different bin for trash & recyclables.
Things we need to improve to go green Leaving water running while brushing teeth Leaving the light on all day Using air instead of windows Cutting down trees Using Windex is bad for the environment Polluting the air
High Schools Going Green • Magna Vista High School in Henry County • Has won awards for going green. • Has reduced energy usage in the past 4 years. • Incorporated gardens into activities and lessons. • Buy most of the food from local farms. • works as a cover for wildlife. They work with with the Dan River Basin Association to raise and release native trout. • Conserve paper by using more iPads & laptops • Has saved $250,000 due to energy conservation
