Agenda Use Students are required to have and keep a student agenda that will be used as a hall pass, student attendance/class tardy record, homework and assignment record, and as a student/teacher/parent communication device. SMS will use the student agenda as THE record of student absences and tardies, as the only accepted hall pass, and as a permit to attend school activities during the school day. If a student loses his/her agenda, a replacement agenda must be purchased from the office for $8.00. Students are required to bring their agendas to EVERY class.
Mini School Rules, Discipline Plan, etc. Both student and parent need to sign. We need an up to date phone number and email address. Please return to your homeroom teacher with the other registration materials.
Rules 1. Be Respectful of yourself and other and their property.
Rules 2. Bring all materials (including agenda) to class; you will not be permitted to leave the classroom after the bell rings. NO BATHROOM NO LOCKER
Rules 3. All backpacks and large purses must be left in your locker. 4. No gum, food, or drinks will be allowed in class (plain water only; no add-in flavors).
Rules 5. When the bell rings, you are tardy. Be in class on time, every time. Remember that the bell does not dismiss you, the teacher does. 6. All school and county rules will be followed. 7. No Phones or devices (unless teacher approved)
Consequences * 1st offense – warning/note in agenda * 2nd offense – phone call or note to parent and Write-offs, restricted lunch/study hall, etc. * 3rd offense – Call Home and Detention (Tuesday 3:15-4:15) * 4th offense – referral to dean * 5th offense- Sent to Principal.
Grade Policy • 40% Tests • 30% Common Assessments • 20% Classwork/Projects/Literacy • 10% Homework • Redo grades below 70 • No extra credit assignments will be given
Make-Up Work • Make-up work is students’ responsibility. In the 7th grade, we are beginning to prepare our students for High School. Therefore, it will be the students’ responsibility to get all make-up work. This applies to any absence. We will not remind you to get this work; it is the responsibility of the student. (Makeup work is due within 5 days of the absence).
SMS Locker Fee A locker rental fee will be charged at SMS; it will be $4.00. No student will be assigned their locker until their $4.00 has been paid, not even to store books. Therefore, until you bring in the necessary monies, students will have to carry all books with them to all classes.

Student Handbook Parent Check List- you will not be allowed to get on the computer or check out books without this! Parents must INITIAL every line! To get on the internet To ride the bus home or with another student To get your textbooks…yes it is mandatory! To check out library books Corporal Punishment… Parents should read and INITIAL all!
Other Forms Free and Reduced Meals Price Application Not required for all students! Yellow Student Residency Not required for all students! Purpose: States living conditions.
