  2. Installing trend micro on your system can keep your personal data and information secure from hackers and cyber threats. This security program provides an optimal firewall tool, which you can configure to allow access to the internet through a proxy server.As a proxy server and firewall are two separate applications, so here different steps are provided by Trend Micro Support to configure them in this security software.

Configuring Proxy Server Settings • First of all, open the antivirus on your system and go to ‘protection settings’ and then click on ‘other settings’ and then tap on ‘Proxy settings’. • Then check the box next to ‘use a proxy server to access the internet’ and then select one of the three proxy server configuration methods.

If you don’t know your proxy server settings and want to use the default one then click on ‘use internet explorer proxy settings’. • If you know the settings then click on ‘enter the necessary proxy settings’ and then type your server info in the required fields. • If your proxy server uses a proxy auto-configuration file or script then select ‘use an automatic configuration script’ and then enter the URL in the input field.

Configuring Firewall • Firstly, launch the software in your system then go to ‘my computer’ tab and then click on ‘personal firewall controls’. • Then click on ‘settings’ link to load the personal firewall settings and then check the box next to ‘activate the personal firewall’ to turn it on. • Then tap on ‘advanced settings’ button and then go to ‘program control’ tab and then click on ‘add’ button to add a new firewall control rule.
