Introduction • In 8 minutes, identify things in common e.g. sport, hobby, interest, travel, family background, cultural heritage, etc.
Factors to Increase Success • Find things in common • Only set goals/objectives once gained each other’s trust • Make discussions go beyond “cocktail level” • Please tell each other you value each other • Hold 1st meeting within 1 month of orientation
Setting expectations • All pick up a marker • Mentees – 4 yellow papers • Mentors – 4 orange papers • One idea per paper on: • What 2 things do you want from the program? • What are 2 guiding principles important to you when working with someone?
Commitment Meet once per month till December 2013
Meet face-to face at least for the first two times & as often as possible
