SPS Scheme for Grid Security (Without Generation at Palatana) Case : Tripping of 400 kV Silchar – Byrnihat S/C line when there is no generation of Palatana
Initial Conditions : • Pre condition: • Following lines should be kept in open condition • 132 kV Khliehriat – Lumshnong S/C • 132 kV Pailapool – Jiribam line at Jiribamend Load (Drawal from Grid) in Southern Part of NER : Peak South Assam : 100 MW Manipur : 105 MW Mizoram : 75 MW Tripura : 105 MW Meghalaya : 15 MW (Lumshnong load) Total : 400 MW ISGS Generation in Southern Part of NER : Peak AGTPP : 75 MW Loktak : 105 MW Total : 180 MW
Case 1: Line Flow in Initial Conditions Shall be kept open Khliehriat (PG) Khandong Kopili NEIGRIHMS 61 MW Palatana Khliehriat (Me) Byrnihat Nehu Shall be kept open 50 MW Lumsnong 15 MW Panchgram 41 MW 130 MW 35 MW Badarpur (PG) Silchar Udaipur S. Nagar Srikona Dullavchera 51 MW 25 MW Pailapool Dimapur(PG) Dharmanagar 20 MW 40 MW Jiribam(PG) Shall be kept open Imphal(PG) Kumarghat(PG) 75 MW P K Bari Loktak(NH) AGTPP(NO) 105 MW
Case 2: Line Flow After Tripping of Silchar - Brynihat Shall be kept open Khliehriat (PG) Khandong Kopili NEIGRIHMS 194 MW Palatana Khliehriat (Me) Byrnihat Nehu Shall be kept open 138 MW Lumsnong 15 MW Panchgram 92MW 35 MW Badarpur (PG) Silchar Udaipur S. Nagar Srikona Dullavchera 58 MW 25 MW Pailapool Dimapur(PG) Dharmanagar 20 MW 52 MW Jiribam(PG) Shall be kept open Imphal(PG) Kumarghat(PG) 75 MW P K Bari Loktak(NH) AGTPP(NO) 105 MW
Case 3: Line Flow After SPS Operation Shall be kept open Khliehriat (PG) Khandong Kopili NEIGRIHMS 94 MW Palatana Khliehriat (Me) Byrnihat Nehu Shall be kept open 70 MW Lumsnong CB shall trip 15 MW Panchgram When Line trips signal will be generated from trip relay of the Line A signal will be generated from trip relay of 132 kV Silchar –Panchgram line CB shall trip 35 MW Badarpur (PG) Silchar Udaipur S. Nagar Srikona Dullavchera CB shall trip CB shall trip 25 MW Pailapool Dimapur(PG) Dharmanagar 20 MW 26 MW Jiribam(PG) Shall be kept open Imphal(PG) Kumarghat(PG) 75 MW P K Bari Loktak(NH) AGTPP(NO) 105 MW
Functioning of SPS Scheme : • Scheme: • When 400 kV Byrnihat - Silchar line trips, a signal will be generated from trip relays at Silchar • This signal should trip the CB of 132 kV Silchar – Srikona D/C & 132 kV Silchar – Panchgram S/C line at Silchar. • Subsequent to tripping of 132 kV Silchar – Panchgram line, a signal will be generated from trip relay of 132 kV Silchar –Panchgram line. This signal should trip the CB of 132 kV Badarpur – Panchgram line at Badarpur. • After these trippings an instant load relief of around 95 MW in Peak Hours which will avert the system from cascade tripping • Then manual demand disconnection should be imposed, if necessary. Identified Radial Loads at Substations Peak Srikona : 25 MW Pailapool : 20 MW Panchgram: 35 MW Lumsnong : 15 MW Total 95 MW
