  3. Skill Volunteering Physical Expedition 3 months 3 months 3 months Plan, prepare for and undertake a 2 day 1 night venture Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Plus ANOTHER3 Months of one of the Volunteering, Physical or Skills Programmes MINIMUM TIME TO COMPLETE IS 6 MONTHS

  4. Practice Expedition • Saturday 28th March – Sunday 29th March • Meet on school Drive at 8:45 am • Return by 5pm on Sunday

  5. What is required of participants…. • Come properly Equipped • Enter the spirit of the D of E • Do not bring IPods MP3s etc… • Think of Safety first • Follow instructions of teachers and volunteers at all times

  6. Mobile Telephones • Are allowed on the trip for safety reasons BUT…. • Must be sealed into a plastic bag with batteries removed upon reaching East Grinstead • Can be re-opened when we return back to East Grinstead on the Sunday

Personal Equipment Rucksack – approx 60 litres (must contain all of the other equipment) Underwear (2 pairs) Cotton or wool socks (2 pairs) T-shirt (1 spare) Tracksuit bottoms / Shorts (1 spare) Sweatshirt (1 spare) Fleece (1 spare) Waterproof Jacket (and trousers) Hat and gloves Walking boots or robust leather trainers, Flipflops or sandals to wear around campsite, Personal First Aid Kit (Blister plasters, Personal medication)

Personal Equipment Washkit (Thin towel, Shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper) Rucksack liner (or binbag) Sleepingbag + Sleeping mat Water Bottle (1litre) Nightwear Knife,Fork,Spoon, plate, bowl, mug Torch Watch Coins for payphone Notebook and pen Emergency rations Sunhat and Suncream 2 x Packed Lunches

  10. Group Equipment (Provided by school): • 1 tent per 3 people • 2 Trangea Stoves per group • 2 Survival Bags • 2 Maps and 2 Compasses • Routecards + Emergency procedure cards • Complete Group First Aid Kit

  11. Group Equipment (Provided by students): • Plastic bags for litter • Matches • Sponge • Washing up liquid • Tea towel • Cooking Utensils • Food for Saturday Dinner and Sunday Breakfast

  12. Food • Packed Lunches: Sandwiches, Crackers, Pita bread, Dried Fruit, Nuts, pepperami, tuna (in packets), • Cooked Meals: Pasta / Rice packets, porridge, Smash,
