Please place a check by their activity and attach paper activities to this sheet. Please also complete 3 speller’s choice activities. _____ Have your child list each coin, including a penny, nickel, dime and quarter. List how many cents each quarter is worth, then draw in pennies to represent how much each coin is worth. (Ex: A dime is worth 10 cents. Then draw 10 pennies) ______Practice determining the value of a collection of coins. Give your child a variety of coins including pennies, nickels, dimes, and a quarter. Ensure that the combination does not exceed one dollar. For example, give your child 2 quarters, 2 dimes, 1 nickel, and 3 pennies. They should be able to determine that this equals 78 cents. Repeat with 3-4 different combinations. Dessert: Entree: ____ Read a fictional story on www.wegivebooks.org. In the spiral notebook, identify a character in the story. Write 1-2 sentences to describe the character, answering the following questions: What do they look like? What kind of people are they? Nice or mean? Friendly or angry? What from the story shows you this? ______ Create a story about a personal experience, such as how you spent Thanksgiving break, or one of your favorite holiday traditions. Keep in mind this story needs to be something that you have actually experienced. ______Identify 4-5 useful products in your home that are made from rocks. Write sentences to describe how you use these products, and why they are useful. Examples include: building materials such as tiles, salt, milk, bread, gum, home décor, toothpaste, soap, and dishes. ______ Pick 6 of your spelling words and write a short sentence for each of the six spelling words in your best handwriting. Don’t forget capital letters at the beginning of your sentence and a period at the end.
