BUSINESS TECHNICAL MATH Business Technical Math is a 1 credit specialized interdisciplinary business math course related to the mathematics learning standards. This course is specifically designed to prepare students who are not strong in mathematics the skills to understand the complex financial world they will encounter during their lives. For students who have successfully passed the required Algebra Regents examination and upon local educational agency approval, this specialized course may be used to fulfill one of the three units of mathematics required for the Regents Diploma with the recommendation from the Guidance Department.

DESIGN AND DRAWING FOR PRODUCTION Develop a 3-D model or solid rendering of an object Practice hand drawing methods of sketching and technical drawing (multi-view and pictorial drawings) Use of modern, state-of-the-art computer hardware and software (Computer Aided Design System--CAD) used by today’s industry Design and development of a product and how a model of that product is produced, analyzed, and evaluated using a CAD System. Ninth grade students must be enrolled in Algebra. (This course may be used by any student to satisfy the art/music requirement.)
MODERN MECHANISMS Explore the relationship between science, technology, and engineering Problem solving through accepted technological procedures. Fabricate and develop individual, small group and large group projects using a variety of components and systems. Develop an understanding of a variety of applications for hydraulics, gears, motors, electronics and machinery.
