  2. Collection based on an arbitrary measurement • 2” x 2” x 2” • Can be any item • In order to be classy, one side of the item should be at least 1” • Each collection should have 20 items, not more. • Also, items should no be totally flat. Ideally items meant to stand or are stable resting on at least one surface .

  3. Naming • Important to have multiple names for something. Ppl dont feel pinned down • 'minis' • 'twenty mini' • 'mini20' • 20 mini'

  4. Other examples • All collections are based on limiting factors otherwise its just a huge pile of shit • Pet rocks (must be a rock. Must have googly eyes) • Stamps (must be stamps) • Etc etc

  5. Why minis • The 2x2x2 rule is just limiting enough that 'finding minis' is tricky and yet the range of items that are that small is really huge! • Minis can serve many beneficial roles in our lives: helping to combat clutter, navigating thru love and relationships and family stuff, seeing the future, self representation

  6. The world on ur back • You can be that guy w the stick and the lil handkerchief hanging from the stick and walk around and discover. • U have your minis with you! And they represent your history and identity • U don't need any other objects • Ideal of eco friendly via – low impact living

  7. Conquer clutter • Used as a tool for ppl who 'clutter' • Take a mini, for instance a mini of a cow. • U used to collect a lot of cow themed shit. • U get rid of all that stuff, and put all of your feelings about cow stuff into that one single cow mini • It is a talisman of your love of cow stuff. • Freed from the shit, but still with the good feeling the shit used to bring

  8. Find success in love n life • Bring your 20mini to a job interview. Remain silent • That 'turning point' in a romantic relationship, when u finally let him see your minis and he can decode so much more about you • 20mini tarot. • 'these were my fathers minis' pass them down thru generations. • Build ur collection slowly and thoughtfully. U don't have to find all 20 so soon!

Twenty mini tarot • As this becomes a craze, 'reading the minis' will become a specialized skill, collector books will pop up of 'rare minis'. • Ppl who are really good at reading the minis and assigning significance will become in demand • There will never be an 'authitarian voice' on the meaning of a given mini. It is personal and circumstantial, even if common themes are there • 20 mini is a semiotics game 4 kids!

  10. 20mini tarot • Lots of ways to 'lay out' the minis • Straight line, circle, 4x5 grid, weird triangle formation. • Each has its own significance, temporal, etc. So you can read the minis in different ways. • Purposeful placement or picking minis out of a bag, depending on your tarot style.

  11. Rotation • You can only have 20. • Maybe your life changes. A new mini that represents a new job or new whatever • It needs to replace a mini, you cannot have more than 20. • Choose wisely! • Concept that there is 'tastefulness of scale' in collections. More is not better!

  12. Minis can be: • Newly made, • Old • Specifically made by someone else for your requests • A part of something else • A common everyday object that 'happens' to meet the conditions of the dimensions... • Found items • Purchased items, traded items.

How to make a lifestyle brand/ • Start a lifestyle craze • Example 9” plate • “Founding mythology” (buying a cabin that had small cupboards bcuz plates weren't big back in the 40s) • Applying it: write the book, philosophize a little bit, send out press releases. • Traditional media is always hungry for vacuous memes like this so as long as it makes a lil sense, and seems somewhat novel, you should be good to go

Penates • Roman 'household gods' • They were lil representations of the gods that were meant to protect the family • If your household burned down or you had to move, you brought the penates with you, and it was all good • U mite remember them from: Aeneas brought his from Troy burning down 2 rome. • Also in the movie gladiator (I think?) • Consumerism is already our religion, 20mini lets us be thoughtful and restrained about it.

  15. How to get it started? • Offer vintage minis online • Start stockpiling minis • Put 20 of them in a photo shoot • Blog about it and share the photo? • Write a 'manifesto' in pdf format. • Send around this powerpoint presentation to everyone in email list and see if it sticks • Alert the 'media' • Write a book about mini tarot • Write about 20mini for a 'how to unclutter your life blog'

  16. A way • That we can still have consumption as a religion • But maybe not kill the planet so quick

  17. Sub-industries • Making cabinets or pouches to show off minis or hold minis safely • Mini guidebooks • Mini swap parties • Etc etc

  18. Minis encourage • Thoughfulness • Via • Appreciation of things in miniature. Appreciation of nuances, slight imperfections, surfaces n textures. • Encourage us to look closely at the world.
