Student Interest Strategies Began at WAFP Strategic Planning • Addressing Future Workforce became a high priority WAFP-Foundation committed to financially support workforce development
Student Interest Strategies For the first year of this initiative, the Foundation raised $15,000. 30 students from WI’s two med schools were able to attend the National Conference (NCFMRMS)
Student Interest Strategies Schools recruited students from FMIG’s and coordinated travel
Student Interest Strategies Pre-Conference Activities • Email correspondence to students • Webinar • Ashley Bentley from AAFP did a presentation about how to get the most out of NCFMRMS • Alan Schwartzstein spoke about resolution writing • Larry Pheifer & Becky Wimmer discussed how to connect at NCFMRMS and about WAFP’s strategic focus, including how to get involved
Student Interest Strategies Activities in KC • Reception was held for students and included WI residency programs • Students gave testimonials and thanked donors on camera • They also wrote thank you notes for donors
