  2. The population of Thailand is 67,091,089 • The religion in Thailand is predominantly Buddhist • Thailand is located in Southeast Asia

  3. The red stripes represent the blood spilt to maintain Thailand's independence. The white stands for purity and is the color of Buddhism. Blue is Thailand's national color and it represents the Thai monarchy. • There are around 30 baht per US Dollar.

  4. Travel Warnings • There is a risk of terrorism in Thailand. Be careful, especially in places such as clubs, bars, restaurants, hotels, tourist areas, and other places frequented by foreigners. You should remain watchful for your personal security and avoid crowds.

  7. Business Dress • Business dress is conservative. Suits should be dark colored. If skirts are worn, they should be knee-length or longer. The shoulders should always be covered. Smart shoes, and socks without holes are essential.

  8. Dress code • When in Thailand be prepared to dress head to toe. Cover up your feet and wear non revealing clothing.

  9. Social Graces • Most topics are open to conversation, but never ever discuss the monarchy or issues such as national security. • If Thais do bring up a complaint with you, such as apologizing for how dirty their factory is, it is to simply state 'It's fine, don't worry about it.'

  10. Social Graces • Be careful not to give too much praise of a Thai's possessions, as they may feel embarrassed, or obligated to give you the item. It is best to give general praise. • Direct questions are common, and people will often say something like 'I'm sorry, are you married?' This is to identify your position.

  11. Greeting a Thai • Thais greet each other with a "wai." Foreigners are not expected to do the wai gesture, but it is an insult not to return it. If a wai is not offered to you, shake hands with men and smile and nod to women. Offer a wai only to people of equal or greater status.

  12. Take your shoes off in any establishment unless you are instructed otherwise. • Do not raise your voice, argue, or swear when talking. • Do not say anything rude about Royalty. • Do not touch the head of children. • Do not kiss or hug your partner in public

  13. Gift Giving • When giving a gift, something small and inexpensive from your home country is most appreciated. Photograph books that show your home country are usually a safe option.

  14. Negotiating • Although usually greeting with westerners they shake hands, Waiis still used.

  15. Entertainment • Evening entertainment is plentiful and inexpensive. Most famous are the neon-lit bar districts. A visit to Pat Pong has become just another stop on the tourist circuit with some local firms offering night tours to the area.
