Childhood • Jeff was born on May 21,1960 in West Wisconsin. • His father Lionel Dahmer was an alcoholic. • He was not physically or sexually abused. • Parents had extreme problems in their marriage. • Lacked self confidence . • He often remained at home , in his room alone. • Often very quiet and tense looking with an empty look on his face.
Early Adulthood • Bullied at school • His parents went through a harsh divorce. • Showed little interest in hobbies or social interactions. • He often biked around his neighborhood looking for dead animals, which he dissected at home. • It was during this time that Dahmer killed his first victim, a hitch-hiker named Stephen Hicks • Dropped out of College. He lacked in direction and often came in drunk
Type of Serial Killer • He is a lust killer. • Sexually motivated and killed for a pure turn on. • Jeffery Dahmer was a process- focused killer ( killed slowly) • Often had obsessive fantasies • He is a disorganized type of serial killer • Left lost of evidence behind • He progresses through his fantasies.
Murders • Committed his first murder at the age of 18. • Murdered a hitch hiker in June of 1978, then buried his body in his own back yard. • Nine years passed before he killed again • Dahmer picked up 26-year-old man at a bar and killed him on impulse • After the murder, Jeffery began to pick up his pace with this killings. • 2 murders in 1988 • 1 murder in 1989 • 4 murders in 1990 • Two more in February and April of 1991, and another in May 1991

Psychological Phases Aura :As a teen he fantasized about killing and raping men. Trolling: He would go to bars Wooing: He would ask guys if they would be interested in posing for pictures for money Capture: - Friday nights , spending weekends with them. - drug them by crushing prescription drugs blending it with their drinks - rape them. Murder: - Strangling his victims - leather strap - document with a Polaroid camera. - he experimented with handcuffing them -revealing his intentions before the drugs completely kicked in in order to torture them. Totem: - ate parts of victims and kept photographs Depression: Murders did not match the same feelings and desires in his fantasies.
Victimology • His crimes included luring victims into his home and strangling them before dismembering their bodies. • He would pour acid into a hole drilled in his victim's skull while they were still alive. • Wanted to turn his victims into “zombies” • Kept Human skulls which were found in his closets • Kept pictures of his victims alive and after their bodies had been dismembered. • Frozen human heads and hands in his freezer • Had humans steaks in his fridge • Human hearts were found in his freezer along with other body parts • Ate his victims
Childhood/Behavioral Factors • Breakdown of his parents' marriage, caused psychological stresses. • With events such as this, it may have been the turning point in his life where he decided to turn his thoughts into actions. • Due to his parents split and his odd behaviour Jeff was often neglected. • He often said that he ate his victims so they would be a “part of him” and would never leave him.
