Once you’re logged in, click on ‘Student Progress Update’ under the ‘Academics’ menu.

1. This PowerPoint will walk you through using teacherease.com to access your child’s grades. Start by logging in. If you have forgotten your login information, email Mrs. Henning and she will reset your account. 

2. Once you’re logged in, click on ‘Student Progress Update’ under the ‘Academics’ menu.

3. You will see the 3 literacy categories for which your child receives grades in. These directly correlate with the report card so you can more easily tell where the report card grades come from. Click on one of your child’s scores to see all the graded items. 

4. *Note* Your child’s scores will be on a percentage scale (not 1-4 like report cards). This is to give you a more accurate portrayal of where your child is along the way, and what their letter grade would be if their performance was measured like it is in the upper grades. All percent scores will be converted to the 1-4 grading scale on report cards based on this conversion chart:4: consistently above grade level3: 77%-100%2: 69%-76%1:0%-68% 

5. *Note* the missing work section. This does not mean your child’s assignment is lost. It just means they were absent when the assignment was done and I have not put their grade in yet. 

6. I clicked on comprehension as an example. You will see all the scores your child has received on tests or class work. Again, the assignment names directly correspond to report card items. RI indicates informational text (nonfiction) and RL indicates literature (fiction). Notice the dates on the left; ungraded items have not been assigned yet. From here, you can click on any assignment (even future ones) to see what standards your child was assessed on.   

7. Once you’ve clicked on an assignment, you can look at the notes to see the standards that were assessed. Usually, 2-3 standards will be addressed on any given assignment. If your child scored poorly on any assignment, you can work on those skill at home to support your child’s learning. When you’re though, hit the back button.   

8. Hope this document helps. Remember, you can access these scores any time during the quarter so you don’t have to wait until progress report/ report card time to check in on your child . I try to update scores bi-weekly.
