  1. A singular voyage of discovery on the vast, uncharted seas of what I will call A Course in Miracles … The Anthropic Principle A Causal Loop Parallel Universes Mysteries of Outer Space Black Holes Quantum Teleportation • Quantum teachings are challenging our common sense objective experience and are demanding a radical reformulation of our scientific understanding of physical reality. Hovering on the edge of religious rhetoric. scientists are beginning to discuss the idea of a "unified theory" of creation. Where, but in a personal experience of singularity, do the worlds of science and religion meet? What does the simultaneous communication of distant particles imply about the reality of our apparent separation from one another? • Have we limited our definition of life to the perception of a narrow range of reflective light energy? Was Jesus the first quantum scientist in his assertion that "I am the light of the World • 'Making the connection between this quantum leap, this stepping from objective time to eternal reality, the movement from the dark particle form to the certainty of the wave of creative light energy is only an acknowledgement of a unified force field or a Holy Spirit — a totality of the continuing unity of time and eternity." The Uncertainty Principle

  2. The Universe is a Hologram “If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would be seen a it is, infinite.“(William Blake) • Ashift is at hand and it invariable takes a fearless mind to accept changes of such magnitude. The holographic universe is a process in closing a gap that seems to exist between mind and matter. What is the world except a little gap perceived to tear eternity apart, and break it into days and months and years? • "We simply need new models of reality to fire the imagination of what is possible and to give us new visions of our place in the cosmos. The Garden of Eden, or the pre-separation condition, was a state of mind in which nothing was needed. When Adam listened to the "lies of the serpent," all he heard was untruth. You do not have to continue to believe what is not true unless you choose to do so. All that can literally disappear in the twinkling of an eye because it is merely a misperception. The Bible says that a deep sleep fell upon Adam, and nowhere is there reference to his waking up. The world has not yet experienced any comprehensive reawakening or rebirth. If you need to maintain your idea that science has proved that 'It's all mechanical,' that there is no room in the universe for consciousness, soul, and spirit, you are asleep in your mind.

  3. To stare up to the stars with the eyes alone tells one nothing, but to perceive the response deep within one's being is another thing altogether. Far below the surface of Personal Consciousness, and even beyond the Individual Unconscious is something in everyone that is akin to what is permeating the vast space overhead. On looking within it is perceived as deep and wide and as full of mystery. The Creator of life, the Source of everything that lives, in the universe and of the universe of universes, and of everything that lies even beyond them would you remember. For perhaps a brief minute man perceives the distance between, the nearest stars and the stellar cloudbanks of our own galaxy. Maybe he even begins to see the pale disk of our neighboring nebula Andromeda, the idea of another cosmic order and beyond this, and the unimaginable fact that there are as many galaxies as there are stars in sight. This realization is awe-inspiring. We fly today, shuttle rockets to the planets, can carry on long-distance conversations and see far beyond our Milky Way to other galaxies, assuming that we all know more than men did before our time—but in fact this is only information about things, not direct knowledge of them. One may view the thousand-fold magnified image of molecules on an electron microscope, but know nothing beyond the borrowed information of learning.

  4. Metaphysics recognizes a divine Reality behind the world of things and lives and minds. Human self-consciousness implies the recognition of the reality of selves other than the conscious self and further implies that such awareness is mutual; that the self is known as it knows. It requires the enlightenment of reason, an open mind, faith, and the urge to know a greater Self in the God knowingness to generate an unselfish and altruistic state of mind. The structure of "individual consciousness" is essentially irrelevant because it is a concept representing the "original error" or the "original sin." To study the error itself does not lead to correction, if you are indeed to succeed in overlooking the error. And it is just this process of overlooking at which this presentation aims. Consciousness, the level of perception, was the first split introduced into the mind after the separation, making the mind a perceiver rather than a creator. Consciousness is correctly identified as the domain of the ego. We cannot really make a definition for what the ego is, but we can say what it is not. The changes the ego seeks to make are not really changes. They are but deeper shadows, or perhaps different cloud patterns. Yet what is made of nothingness cannot be called new or different. Illusions are illusions; truth is truth.

  5. A shift in consciousness is the only frame that will bring the metamorphoses about where a dialogue is replaced by revelation, but revelation originates neither in science nor a religion, its function is to co-ordinate both science and religion with the truth of reality. The injunction "Be of one mind" is the statement for revelation-readiness. The truth - and understanding of cosmic relationships, universe facts, and spiritual values - can only be had through the ministry of the spirit of truth. The fruit of creative action is not theory but practice; not conceptual clarity, but a shift or change in how we view the world. All science is an attempt at reconciling the irreconcilable. All religion is the recognition that the irreconcilable cannot be reconciled. Place cause and effect in their true sequence in one respect, and the learning will generalize and transform the world. The transfer value of one true idea has no end or limit. Cause and effect but replicate creation. Creation is the opposite of all illusions, for creation is the truth.

  6. There is a light in you which cannot die; whose presence is so holy that the world is sanctified because of you. • Enlightenment is but a recognition, not a change at all, in ceaseless self-realization, which dare to challenge the transformations of time and the metamorphoses of space in an unfailing declaration  and need to connect ideas that has always been present in the mind of man. His joy and freedom lies in the union and harmony of an experience of certainty, a knowledge that transcend all boundaries previously accepted as a self consciousness. In a declaration of intention to do the will of God is the assignment to embark on the voyage of ascension.

  7. The focus and aim of this presentation is to show that happiness and joy take origin only in the inner life. That “To Know Yourself” requires courage and willingness to question every value that you hold. No belief is neutral. Every one has the power to dictate each decision you make. For a decision is a conclusion based on everything that you believe. It is the outcome of belief that leads to an awareness of yourself. It is impossible to evaluate a believe system from within. Its range precludes this. You can only go beyond it, look back from a point where harmony exists and see the contrast. Only by this contrast can the ego structure be judged as not wanted any longer. A simple question yet remains, and needs an answer “Do you like what you have made? “ We cannot gain access to the answer of the meaning of self, unless in a moment of darkness-despair-loneliness, its seeming gravity as the laws of objective cause and effect overtakes us, and we are perplexed, fearful, devoid of meaning about our purpose and function in this world. We yearn for a new birth or for a brief respite from our conflictual self-identity in knowing the answer that echoes the call since beginningless time by all awakened minds “Surrender the Idea of a Separate Self!”

  8. To one trapped in doubt and fear (a black hole) suffering seems unending. • “A dark night of the soul" sounds like a threatening and much to be avoided experience. Yet it is in that instant of fear, that is the catalyst to an instant shift of consciousness a self-identity experiences the profound joy of their true nature. • We realize that our self-made roles are shifting, and they seem to change from mourner to ecstatic bliss of love and loving. We can laugh or weep, and greet the day with welcome or with tears. Our very being seems to change as we experience a thousand shifts in mood, and our emotions raise us high indeed, or dash us to the ground in hopelessness. • Can this be your true identity? Could creation create such instability and call it Self? All the images this self appears to make have no effect on what he really is. They blow across his mind like wind-swept leaves that form a patterning an instant, break apart to group again, and scamper off. Or like mirages seen above a desert, rising from the dust. • The functions which the world esteems are so uncertain that they change ten times an hour at their most secure. What hope of gain can rest on goals like this?

  9. The learning of the world is built upon a concept of the self adjusted to the world's reality. It fits it well. For this an image is that suits a world of shadows and illusions. Here it walks at home, where what it sees is one with it. The building of a concept of the self is what the learning of the world is for. This is its purpose; that you come without a self, and make one as you go along. And by the time you reach "maturity" you have perfected it, to meet the world on equal terms, at one with its demands. A concept of the self is made by you. It bears no likeness to yourself at all. It is an idol, made to take the place of your reality as a divine being. The concept of the self the world would teach is not the thing that it appears to be. For it is made to serve two purposes, but one of which the mind can recognize. I do not know the thing I am, and therefore do not know what I am doing, where I am, or how to look upon the world or on myself.

  10. Only the Mind is capable of illumination. Spirit is already illuminated and the body in itself is too dense. The mind, however, can bring its illumination to the body by recognizing that it is not the learner, and is therefore unamenable to learning. The term mind is used to represent the activating agent of spirit, supplying its creative energy. Few appreciate the real power of the mind, and no one remains fully aware of it all the time. The mind can think it sleeps, but that is all. It cannot change what is its waking state. Complete abstraction is the natural condition of the mind. But part of it is now unnatural. It does not look on everything as one. It sees but fragments of the whole, for only thus could it invent the partial world you see. The journey to God is merely the reawakening of the knowledge of where you are always, and what you are forever. It is a journey without distance to a goal that has never changed.

  11. This is the question that must be asked: "Where can I go for learning who I am?" "Seek and ye shall find" does not mean that you should seek blindly and desperately for something you would not recognize. The concept of the self has invented many ingenious thought systems for this purpose. None of them is true. Inventiveness is wasted effort even in its most ingenious form. Conceptual frames of the self are only relatively true ; they are serviceable scaffolding which must eventually give way before the expansions of enlarging cosmic comprehension of reality. Meaningful seeking is consciously undertaken, consciously organized and consciously directed. The goal of finding a true Self must be formulated clearly and kept in mind. Learning and wanting to learn are inseparable. You learn best when you believe what you are trying to learn is of value to you. Yet you can learn this as you learn to question the value of the ego-self, and thus establish your ability to evaluate its questions. No one questions the connection of learning and memory. Learning is impossible without memory since it must be consistent to be remembered.

  12. All true learning is a form of conversion Corrective learning always begins with the awakening of spirit, and the turning away from the belief in physical sight. Life itself is really a process which takes place between selfhood and its environment. In all concepts of selfhood it should be recognized that the experience of life comes first, its evaluation or interpretation later. The reinterpretation of the world is the transfer of all perception to knowledge. Nothing is so easy to recognize as truth. This is the recognition that is immediate, clear and natural. To have trained yourself not to recognize it, has been difficult. The fundamental question a self-consciousness continually asks cannot properly be directed to yourself at all. You cannot perceive yourself correctly. You have no image to be perceived. The word "image" is always perception-related, and not a part of knowledge. Images are symbolic and stand for something else. The idea of "changing your image" recognizes the power of perception, but also implies that there is nothing stable to know.

  13. The only thing in all the universe that does not know what it is, is an apparent objective condition that calls itself a ” Human Being” This condition is momentary and completely transient. It is a unique manifestation of an impossible correlation of a temporal/spatial awareness with the being of eternal reality. The world is nothing in itself. Your mind must give it meaning. And what you behold upon it are your wishes, acted out so you can look on them and think them real. • Perhaps you think you did not make the world, but came unwillingly to what was made already, hardly waiting for your thoughts to give it meaning. Yet in truth you found exactly what you looked for when you came. There is no world apart from what you wish, and herein lies your ultimate release. • Only after the deep sleep fell upon Adam could he experience nightmares. If a light is suddenly turned on while someone is dreaming a fearful dream, he may initially interpret the light itself as part of his dream and be afraid of it. However, when he awakens, the light is correctly perceived as the release from the dream, which is then no longer accorded reality. This release does not depend on illusions. The knowledge that illuminates not only sets you free, but also shows you clearly that you are free.

  14. Concepts are learned. They are not natural. Apart from learning they do not exist. They are not given, so they must be made. Not one of them is true, and many come from feverish imaginations, hot with hatred and distortions born of fear. • What is a concept but a thought to which its maker gives a meaning of his own? Concepts maintain the world. But they can not be used to demonstrate the world is real. They are ideas of idols, painted with the brushes of the world, which cannot make a single picture representing truth. A concept of the self is meaningless, for no one here can see what it is for, and therefore cannot picture what it is. Yet is all learning that the world directs begun and ended with the single aim of teaching you this concept of yourself, that you will choose to follow this world's laws, and never seek to go beyond its roads nor realize the way you see yourself.

  15. You are trapped in a hologram of your own memory mind. Your eye see nothing, they are only light-gathers. This world is a continuum of temporal historic relationships into which you apparently are born, suffer, and die. • Man cannot choose to be other then a human being except that he can elect to be more than a man; he can choose to embark upon the voyage of universe ascension because the human choice and the divine will happen to coincide upon this point. Perception rests on choosing; knowledge does not.

  16. Knowledge has but one law because it has but one Creator. Since perceptions can change, their dependence on time is obvious. How you perceive at any given time determines what you do, and actions must occur in time. Perception is temporary. As an attribute of the belief in space and time, it is subject to either fear or love. Misperceptions produce fear and true perceptions foster love, but neither brings certainty because all perception varies. That is why it is not knowledge. True perception is the basis for knowledge, but knowing is the affirmation of truth and beyond all perceptions. The fundamental question man continually asks himself cannot properly be directed to himself at all. Perception is a choice and not a fact

  17. “What is metaphysics?” The question awakens expectations • Metaphysics belongs to the nature of the human being. • And the nature of man is to search for himself. • There is no conflict that does not entail the single, simple question, "What am I? Why am I here?” • Yet who could ask this question except one who has refused to recognize himself? Only refusal to accept yourself could make the question seem to be sincere. The only thing that can be surely known by any living thing is what it is. From this one point of certainty, it looks on other things as certain as itself. Uncertainty about what you must be is self-deception on a scale so vast, its magnitude can hardly be conceived. To be alive and not to know yourself is to believe that you are really dead. For what is life except to be yourself, and what but you can be alive instead? Who is the doubter? What is it he doubts? Whom does he question? Who can answer him?

  18. Creating Versus Self-image • Every system of thought must have a starting point. It begins with either a making or a creating, their resemblance lies in their power as foundations. Their difference lies in what rests upon them. Both are cornerstones for systems of belief by which one lives. • The concept of the self has always been the great preoccupation of the world. And everyone believes that he must find the answer to the riddle of himself. Revelation can be seen as nothing more than the escape from concepts. It does not concern itself with content of the mind, but with the simple statement that it thinks. • And what can think has choice, and can be shown that different thoughts have different consequence. So it can learn that everything it thinks reflects the deep confusion that it feels about how it was made and what it is. And vaguely does the concept of the self appear to answer what it does not know.

  19. While truth is simple, it must still be learned by those who have already lost their way in endless mazes of complexity of several thousand years of failure to work out reality. Time is essentially a device by which all compromise in this respect can be given up. Your passage through time and space is not at random. You cannot but be in the right place at the right time. Such is the strength of God. Such are His gifts. Space/time is the great illusion. In its wake comes the inevitable belief that, to be safe, one must control the unknown. This strange belief relies on certain steps which never reach to consciousness. The search for truth is but the honest searching out of everything that interferes with truth. Truth Is. It can neither be lost nor sought nor found. It is there, wherever you are, being within you, in the ever-expanding God-consciousness of the never ending divine circle of ceaseless self-discovery and self-realization. Knowledge cannot dawn on a mind full of illusions, because truth and illusions are irreconcilable. Truth is whole, and cannot be known by part of a mind. Nothing conflicts with oneness. How, then, could there be complexity in you?

  20. The Only Purpose • The real world is the state of mind in which the only purpose of the world is seen to be forgiveness. Fear is not its goal, for the escape from guilt becomes its aim. The value of forgiveness is perceived and takes the place of idols, which are sought no longer, for their "gifts" are not held dear. There is a wish to understand all things created as they really are. And it is recognized that all things must be first forgiven, and then understood. • The real purpose of this world is to use it to correct your belief in the idea of orders of need, which follows from the original error that one can be separated from God, it requires correction at its own level before the error of perceiving levels at all can be corrected. • The real purpose of this world is to use it to correct your unbelief. Here is the only purpose that gives this world, and the long journey through this world, whatever meaning lies in them. Beyond this, they are meaningless. There is another purpose in the world that error made, because it has another Maker Who can reconcile its goal with His Creator's purpose. In His perception of the world, nothing is seen but justifies forgiveness and the sight of perfect sinless ness. Nothing arises but is met with instant and complete forgiveness.

  21. Time and Eternity • Time and eternity are both in your mind, and will conflict until you perceive time solely as a means to regain eternity. • You cannot do this as long as you believe that anything happening to you is caused by factors outside yourself. • You must learn that time is solely at your disposal, and that nothing in the world can take this responsibility from you. • For time and space are one illusion, which takes different forms. If it has been projected beyond your mind you think of it as time. The nearer it is brought to where it is, the more you think of it in terms of space. • Eternity is reached by a dissociation from time. Time is nothing more than the conceptual distance between cause and effect. It is in the reality of "now," without past or future, that the beginning of the appreciation of eternity lies. For only "now" is here, and only "now" presents the location in which you can recognize who you are.

  22. Freedom and Choice In this world the only remaining freedom is the freedom of choice; always between two choices or two voices. Will is not involved in perception at any level, and has nothing to do with choice. • Choice is the obvious escape from what appears as opposites. Decision lets one of conflicting goals become the aim of effort and expenditure of time. Without decision, time is but a waste and effort dissipated. It is spent for nothing in return, and time goes by without results. There is no sense of gain, for nothing is accomplished; nothing learned. You need to be reminded that you think a thousand choices are confronting you, when there is really only one to make. And even this but seems to be a choice. Do not confuse yourself with all the doubts that myriad decisions would induce. You make but one. And when that one is made, you will perceive it was no choice at all. For truth is true, and nothing else is true. Condemn and you are made a prisoner. Forgive and you are freed. Such is the law that rules perception. It is not a law that knowledge understands, for freedom is a part of knowledge. To condemn is thus impossible in truth. What seems to be its influence and its effects have not occurred at all. Yet must we deal with them a while as if they had. Illusion makes illusion.

  23. All magic is an attempt at reconciling the irreconcilable • The whole distortion that made magic rests on the belief that there is a creative ability in matter which the mind cannot control. This error can take two forms; it can be believed that the mind can miscreate in the body, or that the body can miscreate in the mind. When it is understood that the mind, the only level of creation, cannot create beyond itself, neither type of confusion need occur. • Myths and magic are closely associated, since myths are usually related to ego origins, and magic to the powers the ego ascribes to itself. Mythological systems generally include some account of "the creation," and associate this with its particular form of magic. The so-called "battle for survival" is only the ego's struggle to preserve itself, and its interpretation of its own beginning. This beginning is usually associated with physical birth, because it is hard to maintain that the ego existed before that point in time. The more "religiously" ego-oriented may believe that the soul existed before, and will continue to exist after a temporary lapse into ego life.

  24. The Natural Process of Miraculous Healing • All of your memories of conceptual self are only isolated accumulations of momentary forms of noncreative light energy. Look. at it this world, despite your temporal inventions of objective spatial associations, was over and gone a very long time ago. • You continue to people your own isolation with images of sickness, pain and death that are all only old, ongoing, listen, projected memories of the drama of your own meaningless existence in that body form. Each moment they can but disappear into the nothingness of the great amnesia, you’re inability to remember who you are, that is the structural continuum of your own idea about your self mind. • When the eternal love of God threatens your necessity for existence, you call on these characters of conflict to verify your own fearful defense of the mechanism of the conflict that you feel within your own body.

  25. Yet the body that you think you inhabit is only your own chromosomal memory formulation within the DNA structure of your self that at any single moment is totally non existent and unreal. • The continuum of space/time it occupies is only a momentary structure of accumulative, projected thought patterns about what you think you are. • Here is the astonishing truth of the matter within your own matter identity is that at no single moment does your body exist at all. There is nothing at all solid or constant about it. Ninety-eight percent of the atoms in your body were not there a year ago. You are regenerating your cellular association of your body. Look. The skeleton that to you seems so solid was not there three months ago. The configuration of the bone cells only seems constant; atoms of all kinds pass freely back and forth through the cell walls, and you acquire a new skeleton every three months.

  26. A journey without distance in the Space of an instant of Reality • The Metaphysical challenge of this age is to those open- minded beings designed to be farseeing and forward looking of spiritual insight who will dare to construct fearlessly new ideas already present in their minds awaiting but recognition of Self though being willing to not defend their previous beliefs, knowing that within that frame lies a greater magnitude of self-discovery. • The consciousness of a victorious human life on earth is born of that faith which dares to challenge each recurring episode of existence when confronted with the awful spectacle of human limitation, by the unfailing declaration ;: Even if I cannot do this there lives in me one who can and will do it is to this unsealed and open mind that truth returns, unhindered and unbound.

  27. It is certain because it is impossible This academy is dedicated to the certain truth that the mind of man and the destiny of mankind by its very nature. transcend the temporal observational situation of objective self-constructed reality in and by which it delineates and defines itself and the world about it. You must have seen in a moment of sudden realization that there really is an alternative. A memory of our Divine Inheritance through the application of the psychology of self-responsibility and the art of forgiveness as taught by Jesus in His Course in Miracles in the action of the Miracle of the daily workbook lessons.

  28. A Course in MiraclesText, Workbook, and Teachers-Manual • Chapter 21 “The Responsibility for Sight. • “This is the only thing that you need do for vision, happiness, release from pain and the complete escape from uncertainty, all to be given you. • Say only this, but mean it with no reservations, for here the power of salvation lies: I am responsible for what I see. I choose the feelings I experience, and I decide upon the goal I would achieve. And everything that seems to happen I ask for, and receive as I have asked. • Endeavor Academy • A Course in Miracles International • P/O Box 13 Lake Delton WI 53940 USA • www.acimi.com
