Factors affecting the design of an interface • Who will be using it? • Ability of workers with computer systems? • Have they received training/are they used to computer use? • What information needs to be conveyed? • Under what circumstances must it operate? • The environment in which the system would be used… • Lighting conditions on a shop floor may be different to those in an office. • How effective will it be in conveying the information?
