  3. What Colleges Want * Packets are needed only if you are applying to schools that require letters of recommendations.

  4. Utilizing Naviance Update all your information! This is what will appear on your Common App forms.

  5. Have you … • Made a Common App account? • Did you write down your password somewhere? • Have you added colleges on Common App and in Naviance (under “Colleges I am applying to)? • Are you doing Early Decision? (Under “My Colleges>Questions” on Common App) Both your parents and your counselor need to sign off on that!

  6. Did you complete your Profile and Education information under the “Common App” tab?   8. About recommendations Not sure about adding another recommender? Ask us first! Did you already ask one/two teachers? Do NOT assign teachers inside Common App. Your counselor MUST manually input them into your Naviance account.

  9. SAT/ACT Score Reporting • It is the students responsibility to report their scores to the colleges. • You get 4 free reports at the time of registration. • You can send SAT scores to all the CSU’s with one code: 3594 • The colleges will use the best scores, so do not hesitate to send all scores.

  10. Financial Aid/Scholarships • Complete BHS Scholarship App • Apply for financial aid • Apply • FASFA (start in Jan. 2015) • Cal-Grant (start in Jan. 2015) • CSS Profile • BHS Scholarship Application – coming soon • Outside scholarships
