FC Dallas TRI • Compete to Develop Training Model • Compete against yourself to execute skills with more efficiency and at higher speeds • Compete against your teammates to bring out the best in each other • Compete against the game to get the most out of each exercise • Group players in training by level, into mixed levels, and with other age groups and genders in order to stimulate growth and inspiration.

Exercise 1: 2 vs. 2 to Targets with Flying Changes Organization – 12 players, one ball per player, 6 vests, 15x30 grid, two small goals with target players Small Sided: 2 attackers with ball attack small goals with targets. Targets position to receive ball and accelerate off first touch onto the pitch. Defending team leaves the pitch and two new attackers enter.

  11. Exercise 2: 2 vs. 1 to Goal Organization – 12-16 players, one ball per player, 4 vests, 10x10 grid, large goal with GK. Deep attacked finds space to one side. Attacker with ball takes the free space. Choose to pass or dribble. VARIATION – add another square with defender and attacker

  12. Exercise 3: 4 v 4 w/Targets to Goal • 3 in the back and 1 target up front. Play can start with a dribble to draw defenders and allow striker to find free space. New group after a goal or ball out of play. • One player joins from each line • Attack with speed • Target player must free himself in on side position • Use the dribble to force a decision by defenders • Read the game • VARIATION – begin next group with a deep ball
