What is Venice famous for? Venice is famous for its canals and bridges, which are magnificent and draw countless visitors each year. It is famous for artisan crafted masks and costumes worn during the carnival and also for the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, one which is very important as it is a collection of European and American art.
How was Venice regarded in Elizabethan times? • There was prejudice against both members of the Jewish and Catholic religions. Religion in Elizabethan England was firmly in the hands of those adhering to the Protestant religion. The people of England were expected to adhere to the religion of the reigning monarch. And Queen Elizabeth I was a Protestant.
