E-Buy Overview - History Business problem and opportunity • GSA Advantage! offered products and services but it was difficult to buy services – needed an online system for service acquisition • Sales were growing in FSS for services – wanted to take advantage of online format • FPDS (2001) reported over 60,000 orders greater than $2,500 – created an environment for high quantity and large purchase items • Increase competition for services – provided an online format for customers to receive multiple quotes NCMA World Congress 2006 : Achieving High Performance in Global Business: Leadership, Outsourcing, & Risk Management
