Implementation of ESCAPE by The Society of the Friends of Children Warsaw, Poland With financial support from the Daphne III Programme of the European Commission
Starting point: the phenomenon of violence among street children is not well recognized (lack of statistics and analysis) • Polish street children: • originate from disadvantaged families • the phenomenon is hereditary With financial support from the Daphne III Programme of the European Commission
Implementation • sessions were implemented in the daily center • 10 participants aged 10-16 in each session, 2 trainers: one from the daily center, one from TPD, duration: 1h30 min, twice a week • no children from ethnic minorities • interpersonal communication unit as first • small motivational programme
Implementation • Children liked games, activities requiring movements, ppt presentations, making posters. • Exercises with writing were percieved as too difficult. • Best results were acheved when the group was homogenous (similar age, sex). • The educators working within the daily center observed that the ESCAPE skills were used during the regular activities
