WATER MILLS • Manyriversandstreamsin Croatia • Numberofwatermillswasfrom 3 to 5 thousand
THERMAL WATER SPRINGS Thermal waters have healing properties
Hydroelectric power plants (HE) • Hydropower plants capture the energy of falling water to generate electricity. A turbine converts the kinetic energy of falling water into mechanical energy. Then a generator converts the mechanical energy from the turbine into electrical energy. The first hydroelectric powerplant in Croatia was HE Krka, on the Krka river near Šibenik, built in 1895. Nowadays there are 26 powerplants in Croatia
HE ZAKUČACHydroelectric powerplant ZAKUČAC • The biggest powerplant in Croatia, produces one third of hydro-electric energy in CroatiaIt is located at the mouth of the Cetina River It was built in two phases (1961-1962, 1979-1980)Today it is completely restored
HE DUBRAVA - The last one in the series of three (HPP Varaždin, HPP Čakovec) hydroelectric power plants that regulate and utilize Drava in Croatia, and includes the river section of km 267 to km 242 (25 km long waterway) The potential of the river Drava is used for the production of electricity, increases flood protection, improves drainage, enables gravitational soaking of agricultural surfaces and provides conditions for the development of sports and recreationThe construction started in 1986 and it started working in 1990.
HE DUBRAVA • The hydroelectric power plant consists of the following main parts: the reservoir lake with embankments, the supply and drainage channel, the movable and sloping part of the dam, the entrance buildings and the engine room Basic technical characteristics: hydrological data: precipitation area:15.981 km2, average annual flow:335 m3 / s accumulation data:surface:16.6 km2, total volume at medium flow:93.5 million m3 energy data: power 79.78 MW, average annual electricity production 350 GWh

HE PERUĆA Hydroelectric power plant Peruća or HE Peruća is a hydroelectric power plant on the Cetina river, built in 1960 with the power of 41.6 MW on two generators of 20.8 MW.It was renovated after being mined during the homeland war and boosted to 61.4 MW on two generators of 30.7 MW.
