The other day I got an email from a co-worker that had a bunch of PDF files full of pictures from a recent office Christmas party. She asked me to take those photos and insert them into the office newsletter I was writing.
When I tried to add the pictures, I found I couldn’t because they were in the wrong format. After struggling on my own for a while, I started searching online and after a little bit I found out about Image Converters.
Image Converters are programs that convert images from one format to another so they can be used in various documents, projects, or presentations.
The best Image Converter I have found on the market is the one found on convert-it.org. One issue I had with inserting photos into the office newsletter is that a lot of times the file sizes were simply too big.
That problem was solved with the built in PNGCrush and pngquant support. This handy little tool compresses image files to smallest size possible without giving up image quality!
The Convert-It Image Converter supports and converts 100’s of different image file formats such as .PNG, .JPG, .GIF and vector formats.
In the past, I have found photos online that I have wanted to use for my Facebook or for projects when I was in school but sadly a lot of those images were in super strange formats like thumbnails and stuff like that and I have found that the Convert-It Image Converter is absolutely perfect for converting images in to commonly used formats.
The program converts text and PDF files as well. In fact the Convert-It Image Converter has Optical Character Recognition (OCR). This means it is able to convert images in to a text file, not very many image converters have this feature!
The converting does not actually happen until after any added effects or editing takes place. This leads me to the next incredibly useful feature: editing!
Sometimes even after they are converted, photos are not quite right. That’s why the Convert-It Image Converter has a photo editor built in! You can transform your pictures by resizing, cropping and rotating them. You can also sharpen, blur, and contrast images as well as adjusting their brightness and saturation.
The program has a wizard style interface, for a really simple, user-friendly experience that allows for tens of thousands of photos to be converted in just a few quick clicks!
One really awesome feature of the Convert-It Image Converter is that you can create media RSS feeds from folders of photos, this is a way of syndicating media and directly sending photos to mobile devices. This is really useful when you want to share photos with a large group of people without sending multiple emails.
The Convert-It Image Converter is by far the best program I found when searching for image converters. Using this program, I was able to quickly complete the office newsletter with no problems and I am excited to use it for future projects!
