  2. Background • Collaborations between disaster/emergency organizations and libraries for improving access to disaster medicine and public health information for the disaster health workforce • One year: $15,000 – $30,000 • 17 projects funded over past three years

Project Examples • Needs assessment of disaster workforce and development of collection of resources for library • Development of disaster info specialist role within regional hospital disaster consortium • Creation of web page and mobile app for use by responders • Training for emergency management at universities and in communities • Information resources for Medical Reserve Corps on web site and mobile app • Addition of just-in-time training materials on responders’ mobile devices

  6. More Ways to Collaborate • Supporting Incident Command Centers • Participating in call centers taking questions from the public • Developing FAQs for local emergency preparedness and response and making them easy to locate • Monitoring social media and authenticating information for situational awareness • Aggregating and compiling information to support public health decision-making

  7. Requirements • Must include at least one library AND one non-library organization with disaster-related responsibilities • Must target the professional/volunteer workforce, not public • Must feature NLM resources • Must be conducted in the U.S. or territories
