It’s a Christmas Fayre at a school in Essex. It was planned and delivered by students. Over 20 local and national charities benefited. Each stall was set up by groups of students with games & cakes. Guests paid to take part in the games or eat the food! Stalls were decorated and equipped with leaflets to share information.

This term there is going to be a Winter Fayreat Tallis run by students in Year 10 and Year 12. Every group is raising money for a chosen charity. In addition, Year 12 will also be raising money for the TTRA. How could taking part in this event help you progress in Working Life?

Planning for success We made a lucky dip game from old toys and wrapping from home. We contacted local businesses to ask for donations. • Plan a stall that will raise the profile of your campaign • Plan for activities that will raise money for the chosen charities • Plan to have fun!
In your groups… Agree on a general theme for your stall and what you will need to do it Complete a SWOT analysis for your idea… Be prepared to present this in some form before the end of the lesson
To identify what you will need to have a successful stall.To create a plan for the day including resources such as a banner and table decorations You need to get a shift on to create everything needed for your stall
What will you need? Starting a stall from scratch is a big task but not impossible with some help You should have a general idea of what you want to do. Now create a list of items that you will need for your stall. Once complete – make a list of people that might help you with them
Don’t approach people without a plan! Things we need: Hula hoops Basket balls Sweets Red paper Christmas decorations People who might help: PE department? Ask for donations? Local businesses?
