The Vision of ABL is • To provide an integrated curriculum that will enable students to become vital and ethical leaders in the community; • To provide a culture that builds character, creativity, and civic responsibility.; • To provide a rigorous and relevant education through project based learning; • To provide positive student, parent, teacher and community interactions.
ABL Environment • Monday Speakers • Dress code • No Gum and trash on campus and in the classroom • Workplace environment • No bells • Shared campus

Monday Speakers • Most Mondays, rotating class periods • Take attendance in class first • Business casual dress to attend is mandatory • Dire consequences of not dressing
Dress Code • Skin is not in • Sagging is unprofessional • No undergarments showing (guys or girls) • Hats outside of the classroom are ok • Wallet chains/chains longer than 12 inches • All bandannas, scarves, doo-rags, hoods–all head coverings are considered hats • Girls–tank tops, low cut, tube tops, pajamastops or bottoms • Boys–muscle shirts, pajamapants
Workplace Environment • No Bells • Get a watch (NOT your cell phone) • Tardy is tardy – one second or one minute • Being on time is your responsibility • You are tardy if you are not in your seat ready to work as class begins. • Shared Campus
Gum and Trash on Campus • The campus belongs to everyone–take pride in it! • Gum is forbidden on campus
10 minute bathroom exception • Students will not be permitted to use the restrooms during the first 10 minutes or last 10 minutes of the period • Before school, during break, during lunch, after school • Each student will be issued an Agenda at the beginning of the year with a bathroom pass sign out log.
LATE NIGHT THURSDAY’s • 3:15-5:00 • MUST be in by 3:15 • Sign in and out • Have a ride arranged ahead of time • Working environment • Not working? Sent home • Computers available • Make-up testing time if pre-arranged

Homework • High school classes typically have homework every night • Expect to spend at least 30 minutes per day for each class completing homework and studying • Doing your homework every day is the best way to pass a class • Turn in homework ON TIME
Amount of Reading • Reading is an important part of each of your classes • Expect to read 100 or more pages per week • Falling behind on your reading will quickly bring your grade down • Have your SSR book with you at all times *Use all available class time for school work*
