Common Core • 8 Mathematical Practices • Designed to promote more Critical Thinking • Focus on Career and College Readiness • Be able to communicate mathematics through writing
Key Points to be Successfulfrom the beginning • Students need to participate • Get Help in class or at break or lunch • Use Online Resources • Stay current on homework • Take retests if needed
GRADING SCALE Weighted Grade 85% is Assessments 15% is Work • A = 90% - 100% • B = 80% - 89% • C = 70% - 79% • D = 60% - 69% • F = 59% AND BELOW

Homework Continued • Perfect Score: Done in PENCIL with their Name, Date, Period, Assignment Listed on top of page, problems written out, work shown, answer found, and assignment completed.
TESTS • Tests and quizzes make up a majority of each students grade. On the weighted scale they account for 85% of the grade. • If a student is absent, they may make up a test during break or lunch.
RETESTREWRITE • Must have all homework in for that Chapter • Complete the corrective assignment if there is one • Set up a Retest time • Corrections to incorrectly answered problems on test • Deadline is by the next Chapter test, usually two to three weeks after the last test.
PRE-CALCULUS HONORS Projects will be assigned to justify the grade boost given for this course. These are mandatory and due on the given date. There is a famous Mathematician project being assigned now in groups. Others will be completion of flight boards for small rockets, coding, and others depending on time allowance.
