  2. Coaching Philosophy • ALABAMA ELITE will have a support system for its coaches. Coaches will have the opportunity to attend clinics to continue their coaching education. The club director will make sure that every coach is knowledgeable in correct techniques, motivational tools, and dealing with players/parents. The club director will hold monthly coaches’ meetings to discuss ideas, issues/solutions and progress of the teams. ALABAMA ELITE will treat coaches and parents with respect. The club director will be readily available for any question or problem a coach may have.

  3. Age specific expectations • 12’s: Base Defense, Passing form, Pursuit of ball • 13’s: Double blocking, Blocking footwork, step-cross, step-cross-hop, Serve placement • 14’s: Ability to jump serve, float and topspin, Rotation and Triangle defense, Setter as an offensive tool • 15’s: Perimeter defense, Placement of jump serves, 3 Person SR • 16’s: 2 person SR, Quicker offense, Multiple shots for setter dumps • 17’s/18’s: Swing blocking, Out of system playcalls, Offensive strategies

  4. Scheduling Philosophy • ALABAMA ELITE is committed to scheduling a nationally competitive season for each team. The belief of the club is you must play the best to become the best. This will involve teams traveling in the southern region as well other regions to seek out the most competitive tournaments. Teams’ schedules will vary depending upon competition level.

  5. Scheduling • Practices will be held 3 times a week, 2 during the week and one on the weekend. • Possible tournaments: BVC, Big South, MEQ, RCVC, Louisville, New Orleans, Cincinnati, Chattanooga, Orlando, Atlanta, SRVA Regionals, USAV Nationals, AAU Nationals

  9. Cost • The cost to play for Alabama Elite’s 12-18yr old teams is all-inclusive. • Alabama Elite fees include • Tournament entry fees • 2 uniform jerseys • 3 practice t-shirts • Coaches’ salaries/travel stipends • Asst. coaches’ salaries/travel stipends • Gym rentals • Equipment/balls/supplies • SRVA team registrations • SRVA individual registrations • Coaches/chaperones SRVA registrations

  10. Additional costs may include: • Travel arrangements for tournaments and practices for the athlete • Try-out fee $50 • Additional jersey to be determined by each team • Socks, shoes, kneepads and other volleyball apparel • Food arrangements for tournaments

  11. Payments • Payments are due Nov 11th, Dec 10th, Jan 10th, Feb 10th for Regional and Club teams, with an additional payment due Mar 10th for National teams. Details of payment process will be on the website. • This cost is comparable to many area, SRVA and national clubs.

  12. TEAM STRUCTURES NATIONAL TEAMS Team goal is to be highly competitive against teams within/and outside the MidSouth. Alabama Elite will only select athletes to be a National team member if their commitment level and volleyball aptitude justifies a position on a team. Another objective for this level is to expose players to collegiate networks and coaches in the hopes of finding suitable post-high school playing experiences if the athlete desires.

  13. TEAM STRUCTURES NATIONAL TEAMS • Teams will have Head Coach and Asst. Coach to provide more instruction per player. • Will play in 3 National Qualifiers and 4 out of region tournaments. • Practice 3x per week FEES: Nov. 11 $440 Feb. 10 $440 Dec. 10 $440 Mar. 10 $440 Jan. 10 $440 TOTAL: $2200

  14. TEAM STRUCTURES REGIONAL TEAMS Team goal is to be highly competitive against teams within the MidSouth and the SRVA. Alabama Elite will only select athletes to be a Regional team member if their commitment level and volleyball aptitude justifies a position on a team. Another objective for this level is to enhance their level of play for school while still considering their future collegiate potential.

Coach to provide more instruction per player. • Will play in 1 National Qualifier, 1 1-day, 3 2-day tournaments and the SRVA regional tournament. • Practice 3x per week FEES: Nov. 11 $400 Feb. 10 $400 Dec. 10 $400 TOTAL: $1600 Jan. 10 $400

  16. TEAM STRUCTURES CLUB TEAMS Team goal is to compete against teams in the SRVA while growing their competitive level and skill sets. Another objective for this level is to enhance their level of play for future school and club seasons.

TEAM STRUCTURES CLUB TEAMS • Teams will have Head Coach that challenges each player to improve their volleyball abilities. • Will play in 2 1-day, 2 2-day tournaments and the SRVA regional tournament. • Practice 3x per week FEES: Nov. 11 $300 Feb. 10 $300 Dec. 10 $300 TOTAL: $1200 Jan. 10 $300

  18. EVALUATIONS • ALABAMA ELITE will hold evaluations for individual age groups in early November. Any athlete wishing to play is welcome to attend. Athletes should plan to attend the evaluation time for their age first. It is possible for a young talented athlete to attend evaluations in an older age group. The coaching staff and others will be on hand to evaluate all athletes to field the most competitive team for that age group according to individual skill level.

Evaluations • Location: Westminster Christian Academy • When: Nov 2, 2013 • Cost is $50 (non-refundable) • Athletes MUST HAVE completed SRVA form, Medical Release form and Alabama Elite tryout form • 16’s 17’s7:30am Registration 9:00am Registration8:00-9:30am 9:30-11:00am 12’s, 13’s and 18’s 14’s and 15’s10:30am Registration 12:00pm Registration11:00-12:30pm 12:30-2:00pm

  26. Notification • Athletes will know their placement on a team by receiving a phone call from a coach. • Athletes have until Nov 11th to commit to Alabama Elite but are encouraged to respond as soon as possible. Athletes will respond to the coach of their acceptance and will subsequently be placed on the roster on the website. Team roster will not be listed until a minimum of 8 players have committed.
