Advertisement 1 Questions • 1 – This is a beer advertisement for Skol beer. • 2 – The target audience for this is for men of any age. • 3 – I cannot say for sure because the ad is in another language, but I can assume the message has something to do with the lines of “the more of this drink you have, the more of women will let you see of them.” It very blatantly obvious. • 4 – I disagree that this beer is the reason girls will take their clothes off, but as it seems in recent history, certain alcohol intake does make some women take off their clothes. Do I think that ads should attack this topic of that; no I don’t. It’s sickening, and kind of demining that we could sink to that low. • 5 – Mostly physical because this is targeting to men who want to get sexually active women (or very physical). • 6 – It’s a negative portrayal of sexuality because it is essentially saying sex is only for fun and when you are drunk. That is defiantly not the message that should broadcast across the world.
Advertisement 2 Questions • 1 – The product being sold is Emporio Armani Diamond fragrance for men. • 2 – The target audience is for men who want to seem very sexually attractive to lots of women. • 3 – The message that is being shown here is that if you use this fragrance that women will be all over you and find you very sexually attractive. It blatantly obvious. • 4 – I agree in a sense that every girl seems to like different scents on guys, but not to the point that if they smell you they will walk up to you in public and try to take off your clothes. • 5 – This more physical because it is geared towards men who want to seem more physically attractive towards women, and that women will find them so god like in their sexual attraction they are willing to give in to them any where. • 6 – This is negative because this is showing people that women are very weak and it doesn’t take much for them to want to get intimate with you, and that all it takes is to smell good to impress a women.
Advertisement 3Questions Part I • 1 – It is a Calvin Klein ad for clothing. • 2 – The target seems to be for anyone of any gender who want to seem very sexually appealing to the other. • 3 – The message shown here is essentially saying “if you buy our line of clothing, you will be taking part in lots of sexual activity. If each sex is wearing the same brand, then that makes it even better and hotter.” • 4 – I do not agree because I do not feel that just based on each others clothing you will then get intimate with that person. There is more to it then just clothing. • 5 – Physical because of the way they are lying down, but a bit of emotional because, as inappropriate as it may be, the couple do show and emotional connection with each other. • 6 – It’s certainly not the worst portrayal of sexuality and nothing too negative, except if clearly shows that this couple clearly have had sex due to the sweaty state they are in.
Advertisement 3Questions Part II • 1 – The woman is lying down on her back with her legs wrapped around the man, • 2 – The man is lying across the woman with his arm across her chest to cover her breasts. • 3 – Their really is no distinction. It looks the slightest bit like the man is overtop a bit more. • 4 – The women looks the slightest like she is in the background. • 5 – It is used in this sense that it shows that both are powerless to this product, but due to stereotypes, the woman looks more on the bottom and more like she has been pleasured, while the man just looks tired and on top, the dominant position. • 6 – No they are not. • 7 – Neither are active, but they defiantly just finished being active. • 8 – Both of them are not being active. • 9 – The woman looks a lot more eroticized then the man does. The man just looks tired, while the woman looks like she was just dominated and can’t wait for more. • 10 – My understanding of the relationship is she loves to be pleasured all the time, and the man is just getting bored with it. Wearing this product, however, adds some spice to the whole thing. • 11 – From facial expression, I would say the man. • 12 – For sexuality no, for relationships, a little bit negative. It shows that women only really want to be pleased when being intimate and that is really all that matters to them.
Advertisement 4 QuestionsPart I • 1 – The product being sold is the new clothing line from Diesel. • 2 – The target audience for this ad is for those of both genders who want to look good, but also for men to seem a little more dominant to women because of their look. • 3 – The message being shown here is the man is so empowering to the woman that she will practically feed you. It’s not a inappropriate kind of dominance in this ad, which you don’t see very often. • 4 – I agree in the sense that women do like men who dress good and have a good sense of style, but I disagree that it’s not up to the point where the will literarily feed you or do what you ask them to do. • 5 – This looks a lot more emotional because they are just relaxing being a couple. They just happen to be a couple who dress and look very good. • 6 – It certainly is a lot more positive because it’s a lot cleaner then most of the smut we see now a days, but it’s one bit of negativity is due to the fact the man seems to be in very dominant spot here because of his style. That is the only issue with this ad.
Advertisement 4 QuestionsPart II • 1 - The woman is giving the man a drink of water as he lays across her lap. • 2 – The man is relaxing and waiting for the water to enter his mouth while he relaxes with this women. • 3 – The man is more in the foreground. He shows in this ad you don’t have to try and be dominant with a woman. You can just relax. • 4 – The woman is. She is showing being the dominated here, but not in a bad or demining way. • 5 - It is used to show who is in the dominant role in this ad. Despite that, however, it is still a very nice relaxing ad. The man is not using his power to a huge advantage, and the women is relaxed and not being forced into anything. • 6 – The are not placed by anything but the women is holding a glass of water which she is using to give the man a drink. • 7 – Neither are active. • 8 – Both are inactive. • 9 – Neither of them are really that eroticized • 10 – The relationship is a nice relaxed one, with some perks for the man, but not to many. • 11 – The man has power in this relationship, but not to much. • 12 - This is a bit more of a positive show because there are couples who do things like this all the time. It isn’t showing a high power of dominance from one or the other, it’s just showing them as a nice regular couple………..on a roof.
