Getting the Message Right Knowing and understanding the message your prophet had for God’s people is the most important [art of this project. Who the prophet was What was happening at the time Who the King was What empires were around These all help us to understand the message a bit more clearly. So when you write up the section on the message of the prophet use this structure.
Getting the Message Right The prophet (put your prophet’s name in) (then add the type of message from the list) the people of Israel / Judah for (whatever they were doing wrong) and told them… “ use a quote from the booklet to demonstrate their message” So it could look like this… Examples of the types of message the prophets had. Judged Warned Condemned Accused Encouraged to repent
Getting the Message Right The prophet Amos condemned and warned the people of Israel they were treating the poor very badly even though they were richand told them… “ You have oppressed the poor and robbed them of their grain. And so you will not live in the fine houses you build or drink wine from the beautiful vineyards you plant.” Examples of the types of message the prophets had. The Prophets & the Messiah The Lord will give you a sign in any case: It is this: the young woman is with child and will give birth to a son whom she will call Immanuel. For a son has been born for us, a son has been given to us, and dominion has been laid on his shoulders; and this is the name he has been given, 'Wonder-Counsellor, Mighty-God, Eternal-Father, Prince-of-Peace‘ to extend his dominion in boundless peace, over the throne of David and over his kingdom to make it secure and sustain it in fair judgement and integrity.
