What the Lord has done ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.’
What the Lord requires ‘Now, if you obey me fully and keep my covenant…
What the Lord promises ‘You will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests & a holy nation
‘But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light’ [1 Peter 2vv9-12]
(2) The majesty of God (vv10-25) • Seen in the preparations • Seen on the day itself • Seen in the reminders by God • Seen in the response of the people
‘Therefore since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. For our God is a consuming fire’ [Hebrews 12vv28/29]
