Homework, Youth and women (b) Describe the policies of the Nazi government towards the young in the years 1933–39. (6) (2b) Explain how the position of young people changed in Germany in the years 1933–39. (8) (b) Describe the policies of the Nazi government towards women in the years 1933-39. (6) (2b) Explain how the position of women changed in Germany in the years 1933-39. (8) What is the difference between the ‘b’ question and the ‘2b’? The ‘b’ question is asking you to give statements about policies towards the youth/ women and support it with evidence. Aim for three. For example; One of the polices of the Nazi Party was that it became compulsory for all boys to become members of Hitler Youth after 1935. This was because the Nazi’s wanted to shape the youth so that they were physically fit and prepared them for a military life in the army. The ‘2b’ question is wanting you to explain how the position of women/ young people changed and support it with evidence. Aim for three. To gain full marks you need to link at least 2 of the changes. For example; Young peoples position changed a lot. They became pawns in the game that Hitler was playing to win total control. He believed that if the young were brought up to support Nazism, they would support it for life. At school young people were taught Nazi propaganda in their lessons (so boys learned about how important military service was and girls were taught about the importance of being mothers).
