Research Project • Where the data are from • Random phone survey of over 500 Portland area adults (Fall 2005) • GPS data collected from 164 bicyclists for one week each (April through November 2007) • Where the money came from • Active Living Research program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation • Oregon Transportation Research & Education Consortium (OTREC)

  4. Traffic is a particular concern for women • Women are less likely to cycle for transportation
