  3. Where we are today • Integrated DoD/VA jointly staffed MTF • Air Force Hospital • VA runs the ICU • 3 MDG Executive Committee includes VA representation • One standard of care • 3 MDG ER is preferred provider for Anchorage veterans

  4. Goals • Service Improvements • New sharing initiatives • Increased access for VA patients @ 3MDG • Cost Containment • Minimize leakage to downtown • Neither agency subsidizes the other

Progress to Date • DoD/VA Budget & Financial Management Demonstration Site • Joint Venture Business Office • CT/MRI Joint Incentive Fund • VA cost savings/avoidance of $1.6M per year • Central Sterile Supply Joint Incentive Fund • Adds VA staff; new DoD sterilizers • Physical Therapy Joint Incentive Fund • Adds VA staff, shares inpatient workload
