Operational efficiency • Introduction • Started in 1991 at the University of California, Berkeley, by Indian graduate students • Rated number one by Charity Navigator in the “Slam-Dunk Charities” category • 100% volunteer-driven organization • 385 projects supported to date across India • Over 1000 active volunteers • 66 chapters worldwide • 45 chapters in USA, 14 in India • Funds • More than $6 million disbursed from 1995 to 2004 • $160,000 obtained from 1296 donors in 2004 • $96,752 obtained from 996 donors in 2005 • Some sponsored projects • Support A Child (SAC) program • Each One Teach One • Relief efforts for Indian Ocean tsunami Facts about Asha Distribution of Asha projects in India Asha Madison Chapter: Fundraising through fun!
