About the YouthMetre The YouthMetre allows young people to be:- informed (they get insights into EU youth statistics);- inspired (they can check best practices);- connected (with other young people and public authorities/politicians);- empowered (they can better share their ideas and gain advocacy skills).

About the YouthMetre The most important parts of the YouthMetre are visualised statistics,training course on advocacy and usage of digital tools, and map "My idea for my community".The YouthMetre can be also used by public authorities and politicians as a complementary tool when they want to get in touch with young people.

  4. My profile, my challenge • Emilie (26) and Karel (27) are recent graduates. • They are living in Leuven and are establishing an NGO that aims at solving local issues related to urban development. • This is a guide for them on how they might maximise their use of the YouthMetre.

  5. My profile, issue • Traffic with focus on adaptability of the urban space to needs of bikers. • There are a lot of students using bike in Leuven but the city is very bike-unfriendly. • The YouthMetre can be applied to solving the issues in a lot of fields and of any geographical scale.

  6. What are the plans to change the issue • To collect relevant data and compare them. • To identify the most problematic parts of the city and approach local authorities. • To change local policy in urban planning and road reconstructions.

Be connected -Choose the map;- Post the idea by clicking on the icon of the edit tool;- Add information and your contact data;- Now people can comment on and like your idea/project;- Share the map on social media or embed it on the website;- Print the map with your idea/project and use it during advocacy campaign - show, how many people support you;- Subscribe to the YouthMetre newsletter.

Enhance the YouthMetre and EU statistics To know what topics and indicators are important for you and your community as well as your needs and ideas is very important for us.Fill in one or more of the opinion surveys and propose new indicators and topics.Take part and contribute to enhancement of the YouthMetre. Hopefully we will influence new EU youth policies together!
