August 2017 LCCU MeetingCleanup PC files • Cleanup Downloads Folder - Automatically in Windows 10 after Fall Creators Update: • First save any files that you want to keep to Documents folder, OneDrive, thumb drive, etc. • Open Settings, click System, Storage. • Toggle “Storage Sense” to On. Click “Change how we free up space” • Toggle On – “Delete files in my Downloads folder that haven’t changed in over 30 days”. If not present, you don’t have Windows Build 16199 yet. Try it this fall.

August 2017 LCCU MeetingCleanup PC files • Cleanup Downloads Folder • For Windows 10, 8, 7 – Search for “Downloads”, press Ctl A to select all, press Delete to send to recycle bin. • For Edge, Internet Explorer, Firefox & Opera browsers, press “CTL j”, click “Clear All” or “Clear Entries” to delete all, or delete individual entries. • For Chrome browser, click “CTL J”, click “More Actions” at upper right, and select “Clear All” or delete individual entries.

December 2016 LCCU MeetingWindows 10 File History • By default, it will back up Documents, Pictures, Desktop, Downloads, OneDrive, Music and Video folders, but you can add add or exclude folders. • Back up to an external drive or network drive. • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Backup, and under “Backup using file history”, select “Add a drive”, and select your drive. This will turn on “Automatically back up my files”. • Select “More options” to configure.
